STAGE FLASH SS10

Date: 10/9/2022
Day: 3
Flash N°: 13
Special stage: SS10 Tarzan 1
Distance: 23.37 km
Weather: Sunny
Road conditions: Rough gravel

#69 Kalle ROVANPERÄ / Jonne HALTTUNEN

“We went wide and hit something in the previous stage. We were struggling from the morning and trying to go flat out, but that wasn’t enough.”

#8 Ott TÄNAK / Martin JÄRVEOJA

“From the previous stage we have a problem with the differential, and that affects the tyre wear.”

#11 Thierry NEUVILLE / Martijn WYDAEGHE

“I am surprised. We had a good clean run and the tyre choice was the correct one. The pacenotes were a little bit optimistic, but we managed it. I am surprised to have such a big lead after this difficult loop.”

#33 Elfyn EVANS Scott MARTIN

“Very loose surface. Spinning a lot. Not easy.”

#18 Takamoto KATSUTA / Aaron JOHNSTON

“Every stage is very slippery. I don't feel any grip. There is no traction.”

#42 Craig BREEN / Paul NAGLE

“Disappointed by what happened. This stage is very slippery. I am happy that I got through.” Asked about the issues of Loeb and Loubet.

#4 Esapekka LAPPI / Janne FERM

“I try to keep the car on the road. There is nothing more I can do. It’s very challenging for us.”

#19 Sébastien LOEB / Isabelle GALMICHE

Retired after SS8 due to broken alternator belt.

#6 Dani SORDO / Candido CARRERA

“The car is understeer a lot. We have no grip. We need to find something for the understeer. It was very difficult to keep the car in the lines. Zero grip all the time, it was a very demanding stage.”

#44 Gus GREENSMITH / Jonas ANDERSSON

“I am surprised with the time. The engine is cutting off all the time at the stage. We lost some time.”

#7 Pierre-Louis LOUBET / Vincent LANDAIS

“What can I say... We were very unlucky. In this one I tried to protect the car. We‘ll prove that we have the speed and our luck will turn.”

#9 Jourdan SERDERIDIS / Frederic MICLOTTE

“A lot of cleaning, especially at the end. In the last kilometers it is sandy. Almost completely dry.”

COMMENTS

Thierry Neuville extended his lead and had a comfortable lead of 31 sec from second. Esapekka Lappi climbs second taking advantage of Ott Tanak’s differential problem. The Estonian is 3rd just 1.3 sec behind the Toyota driver.
