STAGE FLASH SS16

Date: 11/9/2022
Day: 4
Flash N°: 21
Special stage: SS16 Eleftherohori 2
Distance: 16.90 km
Weather: Sunny
Road conditions: Loose gravel

#21 Yohan ROSSEL / Valentin SARREAUD

Rolled in the stage.

#25 Emil LINDHOLM Reeta / HÄMÄLÄINEN

“This win came with our pace and not after the problems of the others. We knew this would be a good Rally for us. I am thankful to the team, they gave us a great car.”

#69 Kalle ROVANPERÄ / Jonne HALTTUNEN

“I don’t feel comfortable. The guys in front have better pace. I push and I try but I don’t think that we are going the best time. This is one of the worst weekends I had. And also for the team. We have to come back strong.”

#8 Ott TÄNAK / Martin JÄRVEOJA

“If you want to win a Championship, it is a wrong decision. If you want to make good PR, then it’s OK. I want to fight for the Championship. It’s a shame we had the problem with the hybrid on Friday and other issues the next day, and we couldn’t fight for the victory.”

#11 Thierry NEUVILLE / Martijn WYDAEGHE

“I finally got a victory this year! But, most important, after all these years and the effort from all of us, this is our first ‘1-2-3’!”

#18 Takamoto KATSUTA / Aaron JOHNSTON

“We had an issue before the start and I lost my concentration. We got a little bit off the road and the tyre got off the rim. It was my mistake. I was looking at the dashboard and I was distracted. We have to build our confidence and come back strong.”

#42 Craig BREEN / Paul NAGLE

“The last part of the stage was very rough. Our speed this weekend was very good. We didn’t make any mistakes, but we were unlucky on Friday.”

#4 Esapekka LAPPI / Janne FERM

“Now it’s time to go back home and rest.”

#6 Dani SORDO / Candido CARRERA

“This time I was a little bit lucky because everyone retired. I am happy for the team. They deserve it. We had some bad moments, but this result is so important for all the people in the factory and Hyundai. Let’s secure it and celebrate it.”

#44 Gus GREENSMITH / Jonas ANDERSSON

“The lines were quite narrow. The road is going to be faster. I give it a shot.”

#7 Pierre-Louis LOUBET / Vincent LANDAIS

“It’s a big step for us this weekend. We progressed very well in every Rally. The mechanics and the team did a great job on my car. This result is the result of the team and mechanics effort. Thanks a lot!”
