#69 Kalle ROVANPERÄ / Jonne HALTTUNEN

“It was the road position, to be honest, and also I was not having the best feeling with the car. I tried to be clean and fast. At some stage we were not so fast and we lost too much confidence. Not 100% happy with the grip of the car and with the road position - it’s not the best combination. We will try to find a better feeling tomorrow and hopefully with the road position we can be on the pace”.

#8 Ott TÄNAK / Martin JÄRVEOJA

“Because of the hybrid [failure], we were struggling a lot, but other than that we tried to do as much as we could and obviously tomorrow the road position will be quite critical. Tomorrow is the main day, we have long stages but rather slow, so it will be very hard to make some difference early on the road. Tomorrow we should have more cars in front of us and we can find some more traction.”

#11 Thierry NEUVILLE / Martijn WYDAEGHE

“Except for the incident with the dust in the morning, it was a good day. We had a constant run through, we are only 16 sec from the leader. Tomorrow is a very long day, we are going to keep the pressure and try to improve more. Today it was very dry, the first two stages felt very similar to last year's first stages, the new stages were quite tricky. The conditions have changed quite a lot from the Recce in some stages, so it made it quite challenging.”

#33 Elfyn EVANS / Scott MARTIN

“It was not so good, to be honest. To be early on the road is always difficult, but still we didn't maximize all the opportunity, so it was definitely a bit of time left open. Overall, a bit disappointed with the day but either way it would be tough, I think. Tomorrow it’s gonna be a long tough day, but obviously we have the opportunity to try and move up the order.”

#18 Takamoto KATSUTA / Aaron JOHNSTON

“I was really struggling today, I couldn't find the best feeling for myself and for the car as well. Tomorrow is a new day, I'll try to find out what I didn't have today. It will be much trickier condition-wise, so I need to find the right pace. ”

#42 Craig BREEN / Paul NAGLE

“The car is doing well, obviously I’m disappointed with what happened. It’s a big disappointment, I don't know how many rallies in the row we had all these silly things happening. That’s the way it is, unfortunately.”

#4 Esapekka LAPPI / Janne FERM

“I think tomorrow our job is a little bit tougher, because the other guys have done similar stages last year. For sure the rest of the rally is tricky and fast.”

#19 Sébastien LOEB / Isabelle GALMICHE

“The feeling was great in the Olympic Stadium. I wanted to get out of the car, but I didn't know if I was allowed to. So many people were there to see us and I wanted to say hello. It was an impressive atmosphere, I didn't expect so many people to watch a WRC event, so it was really ecstatic. Today I tried to push hard, we had good road conditions, I tried to benefit from it, so as to be in the best possible position for tomorrow. Some stages are from last year and are new to me, but I will do my best.”

#6 Dani SORDO / Candido CARRERA

“It was a bit difficult for me today, difficult to get rhythm, at the end it was a little bit better. I lost time at the beginning of the rally, but then I was a little bit better. Tomorrow we need to continue on the same rhythm and try to push and gain some positions.”

#44 Gus GREENSMITH / Jonas ANDERSSON

“It wasn't bad. When I’ve been driving well and didn't make a mistake, speed has been very good, but unfortunately I had a spin and two slow stages to start today. Generally I’m pretty happy with what I've done today. For sure there are improvements to be made. The whole field -which is strange for Acropolis- is very very close together, so one good stage time could move you multiple positions.”

#7 Pierre-Louis LOUBET / Vincent LANDAIS

“We will try to continue like this, try to keep the pace. I don't know what to expect, because tomorrow will be a very tough day, but I think if we stay focused, we can continue at the same pace. ”

#9 Jourdan SERDERIDIS / Frederic MICLOTTE

“We had a lot of issues. After midday we broke a damper, so we finished the three last stages with three dampers and it was really a nightmare. We also had a problem with the throttle. It’s more or less OK, but not 100%, and we also lost the hybrid for some stages. It’s a lot for one day. Still we are here and that's good. Tomorrow we will open the stages and it will be very difficult in the morning. That's the Acropolis rally, it’s rougher than expected.”
