1 SEBASTIEN OGIER/JULIEN INGRASSIA
“For sure we are delighted to be third in the end οf the day. Honestly I need to focus on myself. We are in a good position for the Championship, but everything can turn around easily. I had a good feeling on the car all day. If I still have it tomorrow, I will try to push. But if we have to take risks, I am not going to try it”.
33 ELFYN EVANS/SCOTT MARTIN
“We had a problem with a gearbox for the whole day. The paddle shift was not working. I could shift up, but not shift down. We struggle a lot. We try to fix it. The team tries to find a solution, but we couldn’t. So we couldn’t do more in this situation. I am relieved that we are back in the service. I am sure that we can repair it and continue tomorrow”.
11 THIERRY NEUVILLE/MARTIJN WYDAEGHE
“Today I was more a mechanic than a driver. We had a leak, that we saw in the tyre zone. We managed to fix it, but we didn’t have time to fill it up. The SS4 was so twisty, that we knew it’s going to be tough without the power steering. It was one of the worst stages I had in the last years. I struggle a lot, but the team pushes me to work. We filled the car with every fluid we had in it and we managed to come back to the service. We survived and, according to our calculations, we can finish seventh or even sixth if someone has problems”.
69 KALLE ROVANPERÄ/JONNE HALTTUNEN
“It was nice today. The conditions were challenging, but after the problem of Elfyn we had to clean a lot. The stages were difficult, but we managed to do OK. Today stages were dry, so it was like the Acropolis we expected. Aghii Theodori were really rough and you had to protect the car and the tyres. Tomorrow it’s going to be challenging, because in the Recce we had fog, rain and mud. For sure they will be different, but I don’t know how much they are going to dry.
8 OTT TÄNAK/MARTIN JÄRVEOJA
“We struggle to find confidence in the car the whole day. We try to push, but we have to improve tomorrow if we want to stay in the battle. If you want to push to the limit, especially in a new Rally like this, you have to be very confident with the car. The car is not behaving like I want. We have to work. We will try to find something and change settings for tomorrow. It’s good to be back in Acropolis. The stage are great and also the crowds. The Rally means a lot to everybody. You can see it in the stages, but also everywhere we drive. Their support is great. And I think Acropolis is the challenge we need in the Championship”.
44 GUS GREENSMITH/CHRIS PATTERSON
“It was not a good day in the office. We had a spun in SS5 and in the last one we lost all the oil from the front dumper. We have to find the way to improve, because that was the original goal for the weekend. Tomorrow stages are more technical and we have to find a good rhythm, because there is no room for errors”.
6 DANI SORDO/CANDIDO CARRERA
“I am not happy. I made a small mistake and we have received a 10-second penalty for jump start. Everything was fine. The car, the co-driver, but I would be happier with a better place in the general classification. Tomorrow we have to push ourselves more”.
16 ADRIEN FOURMAUX/RENAUD JAMOUL
“Today we had so many different stages. It was great. We managed to have some good times and we are happy to be here. You can complain when you are driving a car like this, in a road like this. We need the Acropolis Rally in the WRC, as we need Safari. Tomorrow it’s going to be a very big challenge for everybody, because nobody knows what the conditions will be. We will see what happens. For sure it’s going to be difficult”.
9 JOURDAN SERDERIDIS/FREDERIC MICLOTTE
“It was a good day, with no problems. All the stages were nice and we struggled only in Thiva. And in Elatia we caught behind Loubet. Otherwise it was good”.
