#33 Elfyn EVANS - Scott MARTIN

“The cleaning effect was extreme and even worse than we expected. The roads will be better tomorrow. We try to do our best and beat the Ford’s.”

#18 Takamoto KATSUTA - Aaron JOHNSTON

“Many things happened today, but everything is OK for us. I was trying to avoid mistakes and punctures. Unfortunately we had two delaminations of the tyres. We are not far from 4th position. Everything can happen here. I try to catch the two cars in front. For the podium the gap is big.”

#5 Sami PAJARI - Marko SALMINEN

“Very difficult day for us. We have some issues, we lost more than two minutes. We know how tough this Rally is, but it’s more frustrating when you're living it. But it’s only Friday, we have two more days to go. I try not to be depressed about it and keep pushing all weekend.”

#1 Sébastien OGIER - Vincent LANDAIS

“I am really happy for the day. As a team we knew it would be difficult today. All Toyota’s were starting first on the road. At least now we have the best starting position of the Toyota’s for tomorrow. The key today was that we manage to stay away from trouble. There were a lot of punctures today. The conditions for the tyres were extreme. Any tyre would struggle in these conditions. For this Rally you need a specific type. But the rules don’t allow it and we have to deal with that. Tomorrow it will be the same story about tyre management.”

#16 Adrien FOURMAUX - Alexandre CORIA

“It is really positive for us. We had a good day and a good pace with the car. The team is working hard and we are very pleased. We lost more than 30 seconds with the puncture, but otherwise is very positive. The Rally is still long and we continue like that.”

#11 Thierry NEUVILLE - Martijn WYDAEGHE

“You could get a puncture in every corner. I try to be really smooth, but we also have a high tyre worn. The rhythm was good. We must be satisfied with what we did today. The car was working fine.”

#6 Daniel SORDO - Cándido CARRERA

“We had a puncture and after that we struggled with our confidence. We lost a little bit of time. Luckily we gained some places and we are going to have a better road position for tomorrow.”

#55 Joshua MCERLEAN - Eoin TREACY

“We tried to avoid punctures and manage the tyres. It was a nice day. The biggest thing is the road position for tomorrow. That was the plan. The Puma’s are showing good pace. You have to use your eyes a lot and use the tracks to avoid the rocks.”

#22 Mārtiņš SESKS - Renārs FRANCIS

“The day overall was good. The team did a good job today. Jon won a stage! For ourselves in terms of performance, it wasn't the best day. I think that the puncture messed up our tyre strategy. I wasn’t so gentle with the tyres. I didn’t push in the right places.”
