Flash N°: 9

Special stage: Thiva

 Distance: 17.81 km

Weather: Sunny, 32°C

Road conditions: Smooth, loose gravel

#33 Elfyn EVANS - Scott MARTIN

“I tried to push a little bit more, but I was sliding all over. We couldn’t do more today.”

#18 Takamoto KATSUTA - Aaron JOHNSTON

“No chance to go faster. They need to find a solution. We can’t drive fast with these tyres on these conditions.”

#99 Oliver SOLBERG - Elliott EDMONDSON

They went off the road and stuck.

#5 Sami PAJARI - Marko SALMINEN

“I saw Oliver. When you push, with the tyres we are using it’s easy to happen. Of course it was hard for us when we got that puncture. Not so great today, but we have to keep pushing.”

#1 Sébastien OGIER - Vincent LANDAIS

“It was a good day. We manage to stay away from troubles. We are happy. At the moment I keep concentrate on my self.”

#16 Adrien FOURMAUX - Alexandre CORIA

“This stage was nice. Pure driving. Today I was careful to avoid punctures.”

#11 Thierry NEUVILLE - Martijn WYDAEGHE

“We have the same rhythm all afternoon. We had a good run here. The tyres were worn, but we are here. Today we took no risks, me manage the tyres and we improved the car. It’s good. It’s nice to lead, but the Rally is very long.”

#95 Jon ARMSTRONG - Shane BYRNE

Retired after SS6 - Broken turbo

#6 Daniel SORDO - Cándido CARRERA

“It’s difficult. The pacenotes are not good. I enjoy this stage, but the time is not good.”

#55 Joshua MCERLEAN - Eoin TREACY

“It’s been a solid day. We stay out of trouble and we are going to have a good start position for tomorrow.”

#22 Mārtiņš SESKS - Renārs FRANCIS

“This stage was very slippery. The day was OK. I still have to learn where I can push the tyre a little bit more. We could do more, but for the moment it is OK.”

COMMENTS

Adrien Fourmaux set the fastest stage on SS7, but Thierry Neuville is the overnight leader of the Rally. The Belgian is 9,7 seconds ahead of Sebastien Ogier and we are expecting a great battle tomorrow. Jon Armstrong retired before the stage with a broken turbo and Oliver Solberg stuck in a ditch.
