10 + 5 "secrets" for a successful Rally
The EKO Acropolis Rally isn’t just about the best rally cars and the top drivers in the world. It’s also about the spectators, the people who execute the event plan, and the location that hosts the event.
The story typically highlights the winner when it comes to the outcome of an FIA World Rally Championship round. However, getting to that point requires collaboration between all those involved in the event.
The success of a rally is everyone’s responsibility, and ensuring its safe execution can be achieved simply by following these basic guidelines:
1. Park safely along the access roads of the special stages, facing the direction in which you'll depart - do not block the road.
2. Find your spot to watch the rally at least 30 minutes before the start of the first rally car. After that, no movement will be allowed.
3. Enjoy the rally from the designated spectator areas selected by the organisers with everyone’s safety in mind.
4. Respect the marshals’ instructions. They are there for your safety.
5. Pay attention to and follow any announcements made by the organisers.
6. Do not stand near junctions or in NO-GO areas.
7. Do not stand at the exits of corners.
8. Prefer to stand in a safe, elevated spot.
9. Respect the signage and the cordoned-off areas with safety tape.
10. Rally cars can veer off the road or send rocks flying over long distances. Don’t put yourself at risk.
In any case, the "arena" for EKO Acropolis Rally is the Greek countryside.
1. Do not start a fire under any circumstances.
2. Do not camp in the forests.
3. Dispose of your rubbish in the bins located within the special stages or take it with you.
4. Do not drive off-road unless on the designated access roads.
5. Do not choose protected natural areas marked with special signage as viewing points.
