SERVICE FLASH D

Date: 8/9/2024

Day: 4

Flash N°: 19

Service: D (Lamia)

#11 Thierry NEUVILLE / Martijn WYDAEGHE

“We just follow our objective once more again. So far it worked. We are first overall in the Sunday standings, and that’s good. In the Wolf Power Stage we will drive in our rhythm and then see how it feels. We don't need the maximum points this weekend. If we go back with the same gap as we came, it’s been a very positive weekend, and one rally less until the end of the year. ”

#17 Sébastien OGIER / Vincent LANDAIS

“In the first stage especially, we managed to make a bigger gap than we thought. It was not an easy one, but at least not so rough, very technical towards the end and quite slow. I was sweating like hell in the car, you didn't get any airflow. The second one was definitely the most challenging for everybody with the roughness, but also the mud and some very slippery sections to go through. Difficult to know where the grip is and where it’s not. But so far, so good. We need to recover as much as we can for both Championships, because it doesn't look good at the moment. Hopefully we can change that at the next stage.”

#8 Ott TÄNAK / Martin JÄRVEOJA

“Yesterday was a very long day, and this morning the mechanics were very busy. The important stuff was fixed, but there are still some minor things to do. It was a clean morning, obviously the second stage was very demanding. The Power Stage will be rough for the car. It was already now, and I guess with all the rocks it is not going to be an easy drive.”

#33 Elfyn EVANS / Scott MARTIN

“It was a very tricky, narrow, quite technical stage. Mostly I didn't have the confidence, the car felt quite OK. Yesterday it was a decision to give the guys the time to fix the car, because in the end it didn't change anything in terms of Manufacturers’ points, so it seemed stupid to drive the car the whole way back. We need to try and get something from the weekend at least, so let’s see what’s possible in the Power Stage.”

#16 Adrien FOURMAUX / Alexandre CORIA

“We had a heavy storm yesterday and stage two was really muddy. I was surprised that the first stage was dry and there was a massive sweep for the first 7 km and we lost a lot of time. I’m pleased that we are back in pace. The Power Stage was already rough, I guess the second pass will be rougher. I expect deep ruts, because of the rain last night. So rocks, ruts in the mud, it’s going to be difficult. But we have nothing to lose, so we are going to push.”

#18 Takamoto KATSUTA / Aaron JOHNSTON

“Tricky conditions. First stage was dry, the second one had very mixed conditions, very muddy, at some places just a bit dump. Not easy. Let’s see if it is going to dry or not, because the Power Stage is very important for us.”

#6 Daniel SORDO / Cándido CARRERA

“The first stage was very slippery and the second one was muddy and difficult. In the Power Stage I will try to avoid any mistakes.”

#19 Jourdan SERDERIDIS / Frédéric MICLOTTE

“Not so bad, the first stage was OK. The second stage was muddy, but drying so fast, so when you are third on the road or twentieth, the difference is huge. The stage is changing all the time. For the Power Stage it will be completely dry, but also very rough, because the stones are coming out.”
