Toyota 1-2, Ogier wins

Action in Rally Italia-Sardegna was unfolded in identical way with that of Rally Portugal, as the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC seemed faster but faced reliability problems, while the crews of Toyota Yaris WRC claimed excellent results.
It was Ott Tanak-Martin Jarveoja who led the classification but were forced to retire for second rally in a row, when they hit a rock in their line, that damaged the rear left wheel and suspension.
After that, Sebastien Ogier-Julien Ingrassia claimed the lead, despite having been first on the road during Day1. From that time, the Frenchmen never felt any pressure and managed to grab their 3rd win of the season.
The Toyota triumph accomplished by the second place of Elfyn Evans-Scott Martin and the fourth of Takamoto Katsuta-Dan Barritt.
Thierry Neuville-Martijn Wydaeghe rescued Hyundai with their fourth finish in third place this year, as Dani Sordo-Borja Rozada also retired, after a light roll that damaged the rear wheel and suspension.
As both M-Sport Ford crews retired, Gus Greensmith-Stuart Loudon from technical issues and Teemu Suninen-Mikko Markkula after going off, whilst Kalle Rovanpera-Jonne Halttunen faced suspension damage, leading Rally2 crews climbed in the overall classification as well.
Finns Jari Huttunen-Mikko Lukka (Hyundai Motorsport N, Hyundai NG i20 R5) finished 5th overall and won WRC2, with Mads Ostberg-Torstein Eriksen (TRT, Citroen C3 Rally2) following in both classifications.
In WRC3, the win went to the hands of Frenchmen Yohan Rossel-Alexandre Coria (Citroen C3 Rally2).
