Distance: 17.54 km
Weather: 23 °C
Road conditions: Dry, slippery, rough gravel
1 SEBASTIEN OGIER/JULIEN INGRASSIA
“Extremely slippery. I did everything I can. Unfortunately, it would be extremely costly”.
33 ELFYN EVANS/SCOTT MARTIN
“Pretty low grip. It was not easy to follow Seb’s lines”.
11 THIERRY NEUVILLE/MARTIJN WYDAEGHE
“I wasn’t very confident. I was losing the rear a lot. I lost a lot of speed in there. The grip is low and we also had two spares. The rear was moving a lot. We are going to make some changes for the next one”.
69 KALLE ROVANPERÄ/JONNE HALTTUNEN
“It was tricky with these tires on these conditions”. (They use the hard compound)
8 OTT TÄNAK/MARTIN JÄRVEOJA
“Clean stage for us, no problems. It was fine. In the next one it will be rougher and we will need to make adjustments”.
44 GUS GREENSMITH/CHRIS PATTERSON
“There was no much grip. We couldn’t keep a clean line. And we are going to make some changes for the next one”.
6 DANI SORDO/CANDIDO CARRERA
“Very slippery stage. We don’t have a lot of soft tyres”.
16 ADRIEN FOURMAUX/RENAUD JAMOUL
“Quite rough and difficult stage. I hope we will find something for the next stage”.
They lost the rear bumber.
7 PIERRE-LOUIS LOUBET/FLORIAN HAUT-LABOURDETTE
“It was OK stage for us. It was a nice one. We try to enjoy”.
9 JOURDAN SERDERIDIS/FREDERIC MICLOTTE
“Little bit faster from the R5. It’s a very demanding car. I am quite old”.
Ott Tanak set the fastest time in the opening Special Stage of the day. The Estonian was just 0.2 sec faster than Sebastien Ogier. The French driver managed to be second, although he was the first car on the road. His team mate Elfyn Evans was third fastest. Thierry Neuville was not confident with the Hyundai i20 WRC and lost some time.
